In his sermón at the Congregational cliurch Jast Sunday morning, Rev. J. W. Bradshaw voiced the sentiment of the poor people of this country, if of no other class, when he denounced the coal barons for raising the price of eoal this winter, although there is now less work than ever for the laboring people and as a consequence iess money in their pockets. Mr. Bradshaw is quöted as having said: uThey have taxed the people $64,000,000 without any cause or justiflcr'tion. "Labor is no higher than last year, eoal is as plenty in the bowels of the earth and as easily obtained, freight rates are the same. They have wrung this trom the people by extortion. "There is a blind Sampson going around this country who may be cfriven by such oppression to pull the temple about our ears."
