Greek Fire

Greek fire, which had severa! other names - wild fire, liquid fire, wet fire and fire rain - descriptivo of its destruo tiveness, is said to have been the most destrnctive engine of war previous to gunpowder. Discovered by Oalliuicns, a Syrian, it was first used iu the siege of Coustaiitinoplo, GT3-8, and at Mecca, 690.
