At the rëoent ineetiug of the Sovereign Graud Lodge of Oddfellows at Dallas, Tex., the question, of opening the doors of the Rebekah lodges to all white women, 18 years of age and of I good moral character, was taken under consideration. The eommittee appointed to look into ths matter presonted a minority aud majority report, the minority report being against this proposed legislatiou. After rnuch discussion action on this matter was deferred uutil the next aession of this body. Wnile dealing with this subject the sovereign graud lodge enacted legislation tbat bas long been desired by the friends of the Rebekahs, that is, they formulated au amendment to the constitntioD permittiug a sister mernber of a Rebekah lodge to make herself known to any Oddfellow. A eommittee report recommended that subordínate lotlges be given the right to svithhold all sick dues for the flrst tvvo weeks of sickness. This met with strong opposition, bnt the report was flnally adopted. An amendment wasoffered to change the constitution of the sovereign grand lodge to remove the restrictions against saloon-keepers or others eugaged in the liquor traffic, leaving that portion intact whiüh refera to gamblers. No actiou was taken op this, it being decided to take it up at the uext session.
