Kies will speak at Arbeiter hall, Saturday evening on the silver question. Rev. Oliver PerriD, of Dundee, is tbe guest of his sisters, Mesdames Stark and MoCord. Mrs. Qeo. Buss and little daughter, went to Windsor, Ont. , Tuesday, to visfc her pareuts. Manchester is to have a cheese factory. Great repairs are being made on the building in Bast Manchester and it is to open Nov. 20. Geo. Bnss, who for the past two years has been manager of the Mack & Co. store, has acoepted a position at Schairer & Millen's dry goods store, Ann Arbor, and wil! move to that place The attendanoe at the county convention of the W. U. T. ΓΌ. at the M. E. charch, held in this village last Wednesday and Thursday wasgood, a number of delegates being present. Mrs. E. Lorine Law, of Detroit, gave a fine addiess Wednesday evening. On Thursday evening J. B. Steere and H. C. Markham, of Ann Arbor, spoke. Tuesday afternoon a large number of onr citizens, together with all the pupils of the school went to the depot, having received a telegram that an extra train would bring Mayor Pingree, of Detroit, and ex-Governor Foraker, of Ohio, who were in Jackson that day, to speak. To tbe great disappointment of the anxions crnwd the train swiftly sped past them leaving a much disappointed and provoked crowd gazing after the train to catch a glimpse of the men, but all in vain.
