Chicago, Nov. 10. - Edwin T. Bennett. who for twenty years was solé owner, publisher and editor of the Bay City Tribune, one of the oldest established papers in the state, was arrested when he arrived in Chicago Monday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock on the steam barge John Spry. The arrest was based on a warrant charging him with the embezzlement of $5,000. The complaint upon which the warrant was swom out was made by John F. Eddy, president and stockholder, and Edward T. Carrington, also a stockholder of the Tribune company. Bennett protests his innocence.
