Iu acoordauce with a cali, sigued by 11 of the 14 aldermen of the city, a special nieoting of the Ann Arbor cowruon ccuncil was held Monday evening to discuss the question of dispeusiug with some of the extra expenses that the oity pay roll has been earrying. A resoluciĆ³n was pas.sed asking the board of publio works to dispense with the services of Mr. Fuucke, who has been overseeing the long drawn out Detruit st. iruprovemeut, at the end of tbe present week. The caĆ¼ asked for the disposal of Sewer Iuspeotor Groves, Sidewalk Inspeotor Rhodes and Street Cominissiouer Ross' bookbeeper. A oommittee was appointed to eonfer with tbe board of public works as to what should be done with Mr. Groves. Ths other two employees named above have already been dispensed with. The general sewer olaims were disallowed ; claims on sewer district No. 5 to the amount of $71.95 were ordered paid, also eleotion expenses to the amonut of $650.25.
