Prof. B. A. Hinsdule lectured 011 "Religión" at fcbe Cburcb of Christ, on Plnm st. , Detroit, last fcSanday. The sophomore hop wil] be giveu at Granger's Auademy on Deo. 11. The freshrnen have postponed tbeir social to Jan. 15, in conseqnence of it. The Michigan Alunauns has again changed hands, and is uow under the mauagement of a board composed of members of the faonlty and stndents. Prof. A. A. Stanley gave a recita', on the Columbiau organ in Uuiversity hall Saturday afternoon for the entertainment of the members of the Michigan Schoolinasters' Club. Prof. B. A. Hinsdale delivered an address Saturday at the meeting of the Northwestern Ohio Teachers' Association at Bucyrus, Ohio, on the snhjetit "The feelings as a factor in education." Dr. W. N. Fowler, medical superintendent of the horneopathc hospital, has resigned nis position and left Wednesday night for South África, wbere he has accepted a lucrativa positiou in a hospital. Pred E. Janette, a stndent in the literary departrnent in years gone by, has purebased the St. Joseph Evening Jourual, in company with R. K. Moulton, and the two will continue the pnblication of the paper. The U. of M. football management receives $4,000 as its share of the net I roceeds of the Thanksgiving game at Chicago. This snm will be a great help to the athletic assooiation in clearing np the heavy debt with wbich it is burdened. The $10,000 beqneathed to the university for the law library by the late Hon. C. H. Bnhl, of Detroit, is sonn to be expended. A committee of the re?ents and members of the law faculty bas praotically made the selection of the books wauted and all that remains to be done is to close the transaction with the book house fnrnishing them the cheapest. Much care bas been used in making ont the list of books to be purchased so that the surn may be used to the best possible advantage.
