The coustitution of the Washtenaw County AgrionlEural Society provides that if the anuual meeting of the society is uot called to be held at some stated place on the third Tuesday in December of each year, it shall be held ou the fair gronnds of the society at 11 o'clock of that day. Accordingly at that time several of the merubers of the society met at the fair grounrï and after electing John H. Sperry, of Ann Arbor, chairman of the meeting, and Ralph McAllasfer, secretary, adjonrued to meet at tbs supervisors' room in the oourc house at 2 o'clook in the afternoun. Chairman Sperry called the meeting to order and the electiou of ofïicers aud a board of managers for the eusuiug yeor was at once proceeded with, resulting as follows: President, E. E. Leiand, of Northfield; vice presidenta, G. W. Phelps aud Wm. E. Btocking, Anu Arbor, J. F. Spaford, Manchester, Benj. Kelly, Ypsilanti, William Catiipbell, Pittsfield ; tecording seoretary, Ralph McAllaster, Ann Arbor; corresponding secretary, F. E. Mills, Pittsfield; treasurer, F. H. Belser, Ann Arbor; board of managers, John Keppler, Benj. Geer, Superior, Patrii-k Tnomey, Scio, Isaao P. Savory, Lima, H. P. Finley, Ann Arbor, George E. Sperry, Pittsfield, A. J. Sawyer, Webster, O. M. Martin, Ann Arbor, John H. Sperry, Ann Arbor town, E. F. Mills, W. C. Stevens, Moses Seabolt, Heary Richards, John F. Avery, Ann Arbor, P. McLaughiin, Lima, F. B. Brann, Aun Arbor towu. A motiOD was carriod that the board of managers appoiul a coramittee to settle with the officers of the society for the past year, and at a subsequent meeting of tjie boaru the presideDt appoinled as snch oommittcfl Col. H. S. Dean, F. E. Mills and Geurge W. Phelps. The secretary was instrncted to notify the officers nf tbeir electiou and to ask tbem to accept the charge. The board of managers adjonrned to meet Jan. 7, 1897. It was the sense of the meeting that a fair shail be held in September of next year, and that preparations for bolding it and making it the success that it ought to be should be comnaenced at an early date.
