The Late James Nelson

Died, at tbe home of bis daughter, Mrs. Joseph Sbaw, 52 Miller ave., Ann Arbor, on Friday, Dec. 11, James Nelson, aged G8 years. Mr. Nelson was born in Ayre township, Fulton county, Peuu., Jan. 23, 1828. He oaine to Michigan at th3 age of six years with hia pareuts and settled at Monroe, where he resided until he was 22 years of age. At that time be removed to Dundee, where be spent some years, snbsequently coming to Aun Arbor, where tbe remaiuder of his life was spent. His wife died nearly three years ago, siuce which tima he bas lived with his daughter, Mrs. Josepb ï::haw. Mr. Nelsou was uearly l!9 nf i:ge. Tea weeks previous to bie death he suffered a stroke of paralysis, which reodeied bim nearly helpless, bnt be bore his snfferings with patience and fortitnde, firmly believing in a blessed immortality beyond tbe grave. He leaves two danghters, Mrs. Joseph Shaw aud Miss Mattie Nelson, also tbree brotbers and mauy friends to mourn his loss. The funeral took place at the family residenoe, 52 Miller ave., Saturday p. m., Dec. 12, Rev. J. W. Bradshaw, of whose cburch deceased was a member, officiating aud spekiug beautifnl words of comfort.
