Heard Over The Telephone
University hali had the largost audience in it Wednesday evening tbat it has had thisyear, when HanJel's "Messiah" was presented by the Choral Ucion assisted by Mrs. Genevra Johnstoue-Bishop, soprano; Mrs. -May Phoenix Cameron, oontralto; Mr. üeorge J. Hamlin, tenor, and Mr. Gardner S. Lamsou, bass. The oratorio was a grent snccess througbout, the siuging of the chorns showing carefnl training on the part of Pro. Stanley, while the solo parts were all well taken. By means of long distauce transmitters placed on each side of the great gallery in University hall, the choras es of the "Messiah" were plainly heard over the telephone line in Detroit and Adrián, although the solo parts were somewhat indistinct.
