Mrs. Wait speut her earlier life iu Ann tArbor, and was the widow of the late Wm. Howard Wait, who was one af tbe earlier gradnates of tbe Michigan University, and who nntil his death in 1886, held an extensive law practico in New York City. Sho leaves one son, Erskine L. Wait, an artist, her eider sou, Howard St. having died in June, 1 8 9 3 . Her sur viving brother aud sisters live in this Clair Wait, also a New York lawyer, city and are Johu ï. Swathel, Mrs. H. J. Eeakes and Mrs. F L. Hubbard. Though she had never entirely recovered from a long and sèrions illuess dnring a visit with relatives here last winter, still her death at this time was unexpected aud is a great shock to ber friends. tíhe will be kindly leraembeied by all who knew ber for her gentle and winuin ways and Jovable disposition. The funeral was held ou Wednasday, the bnrial being in Greunwood cemetery, Brooklyn.
