Papars were sigaed in Detroit few days RÍDC8 vehereby Henry M. Loud, the wealffty Oscoda luinber man, gives the snm of $15,000 to tbe Wesleyan Gmld of this city, for the permanent endowment of a course of leotures. The Wesleyan Gnild is an orvanization in oonnection with the First M. K. ohvuch of tbis city for the purpese of aidiug in the work of thechurch amoug the stuieits of the nuiversity. lts work correspoDds with tbat of the Hobart Gnild of the Bpiaoopal ohnroh, and a similar Presbyterian organizaron, both of which own and make use of large club houses and have rioh endowments. The Wesleyan Guild already owns sonie valuable property, bnt has been mnch hampered by the lank of needed fnnds, benne this generons gift oomes as a weloome rift in the olauds. The inoome thus provideé, it is estiinated, will provide for six high grade lectures duriug each year. Three for the remainder of this year nava already been chosen : Bishop Fowler, of Buffalo; Dr. Towusend, of Washington, D. C, and Bishop Warrren, of Denver, Colo.
