Judging rom nis report to the Adrian coinmon eonnoil. City Attorney Priddy is not very favorably impressed with Ana Arbur's boarrl of public works a"d the manner in which the taxes are collected. The Adrián Times bad the followiug in its report of the procpedings of the common oonncil. "He statfd tbaü iu the cicy of Add Arbor, whioh he had visited, a semiaunual collection of the taxes was made, aud it gave satisfaction. Tbe delinquent city tax was returued on the December roll, and collected with the state, couuty and school tax. "Ie cost Ann Arbor, howevet, $2,000 to collect abont the same aniount of taxes that it costs Adrián $1,400 to collect. "Jackson, which follows the same plau, except that it repoits delinquent taxes back to tbe city i astead of the state for sale property, is losing about $3,000 a year Dy this arrangement. "Ann Arbor bas a board of public works, but considers it too expensive a piece of machiuery, and will amend its charter in order to get rid of it. It also has a flre commission, wbioh works about the same as a committee. "
