The school eDterea upon a new rerru on Monday last. M. J. Lehman, of Ann Arbor, was liere last Saturclay. VV. VV. Wedeineyer speut last Suuday witb relativas in this place. Jas. S. Allyn, has sold his farm two miles nortb of town to Edward Stapish. Wm. Q. Liwick has juined tbe telegraph buidlers of the M. C. R. R. Co. John E. Durand, of JacksoD, was at the funeral of Aaron Daraud last Tuesday. It is reported that the stove factory that has been still so long will start up soon. A. W. Ames, of Ann Arbor. attended the luneral of Aaion Durand here on Tuesday. Wm. G. Dancer, of East Lima, is reported dangeroasly ill of enlargeuaent of the liver. Large amounts of wood have been hauled ou the late sleigbiag which is uow voru out. ■ The ice erop is beiug harvested and is of good quality. It is one foot thick and clear and nice. A large numer of saw logs have been brougbt to the saw mili in this place and are being sawed up. Dt. Geo. A. Robertsou and wife, of Battle Creek, were here Tuesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Robertson's father. The special union meetings continue with ïinabated interest this, the fourth week, at the M. E. church. Some 40 or 50 converts have been secured already. There are .six weeks of winter to come yet. If the ground hog came out on day he surely saw his shadow and went back into his hole for six weeks. Tt was a bright, sunny day. The market met a bad set back last week on grain. Wheát brings 80 cents, rye 30 cents, oats 15 cents, barley 60 cents, beans 45 cents, dressed hogs $-4, clover seed 4.50,. eggs 18 cents, butter 11 cents. Arrivals moderate. Aaron Durand died at Battle Creek last week and was buried from the rosidence of D. H. Fuller here, on Tuesday last. Mr. Durand was 7(i years old and bad spent most of his life in this village and was well and favorably kunwn here among t large circle of frieuds.
