While in the probate office Tnesday morning, the Argus man was shown tbe calendar used by James Richards, the murdered Dixboro farmer, during his lifetime. It is a very orude affair, and yet it is just snch an one as yoo wonld expeot a mau who was as uneducated and as much of a recluse as he was would keep. Itconsisted of a uumbar of small square ent pegs about oue aud a half incheu long, whicb were kept in a box. Each peg represented a roonth and there are notches on each eáee of the pegs corresponding to the days of the week, one uotch for eaoh day. By cetmting np the number of pegs in the box he oonld teil wbat month of the year it was, while the nuniber of notches on tbe last peg would teil the day of the ruonth.
