The state board of education met at Ypsilanti Friday afternoon and evening and vfhile the uew training school may uot be considerad corayleted in every particular, the board aocepted it conditionally. Tbe Deoatnr school board refus8d to release Miss Pearl Weinnett from her contract there and Miss Stratford, of Rockford, 111., was selected as an assistaut to Prof. MaoFarlaue in geograpby and drawing. They also selected Miss Mary Berkley, of Chicago, to teach in the fifth grade and Miss Clara Waldo, of Lansiug, for the sev enth grade. They also authorized the employment of two student teachers in the depart raents of Prof. D'Ooge and Miss King At the meeting in the eveniug the boarc convened with the Normal oouncil anc tbe matter of appropriations to be askec from tbe state legislatura was talked over. It was found necessary to in crease the amount for current expenses and it is probable that an appropriation will be asked for a heating and electrio plant. The policy of tbe Normal schools iri general, was talked over.
