The Detroit Journal of Weduesday aid: "It Dow looks as if the electric line ouneotiug Aun Arbor with D3troit would be completed during the present ear. In the first plaee rails are very heap, so tbat tbousands cf dollars oold be saved by letting the contract t ouce tor the material. Tben there is jlenty of idle money in the conntry whicb capitalists are willing to put nto good ventures, and the franchise wners on tbis route have no feai bout being able to finauce the soaerne uccessfully. "Last year the Ann Arbor line went ;o pieces beoause too many people vanted tbe long end of the string. The Ann Arbor road, the Ypsilant oad, the Detroit railway and some Drivate parties were all interested, and bey could not successfully negotiate, jut uow it is different. "Tbe roads in Ann Arbor and Ypsianti, with the connecting link of nine miles, are now under one management. Thomas D. Kearney and a half a dozen ssociates have franchises throngh three ownships, but they do not want to pull way froro other interested parties. "Last summer Albert Paok and Heny A. Eveiett purohased the plank oad, which runs as f ar as Wayne, and he Detroit railway built four miles of rack down through Springwells, with he intention of going on to Ann Arjor. "Now it is a question of negotiation, nd all of the parties are willing to be quare. The Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti eople are willing, the Kearney crowd uxious, and tbe Detroit people desirus, so all they havo to do is to meet. One conference was held last week, nd matters were given a good start. "Albert Pack of the Detroit railway s now in the east, and while there he will investígate the material question, nd also talk to tbe capitalists of New York concerning the college city line. As soon as he returns the matter will be settled definitely, and if favorable a ime set for starting work. "Witb tbis line built Ann Arbor will be just 39 miles away and it will reluire only 22 miles of track-laying to make the connectiun.
