The work of the pupils frotn lire is fine acd interesting. This is the most advauoed work that has ever been done in tbe school and is most creditabie. Other branohes of work bave not snffered eitber. The water color studies are numerous and the children show sorne good pencil work. All in all, the display of the school, proper, is very attractive. In addition to pupils' work Mr. Pattison, of Chicago, and Mrs. L. C. Stanley, of Detroit, exhibit some landscapes in water oolor. Mr. Pattiscn is an art critio aud lectorer of some note, and it is quite possible he may bave a class io out-ofdoor work later in the season. His work has been exhibited in New York City by the American Water Color Sooiety, and received high commendation. Mrs. Stanley has many friends here who will be glad to see what sbe bas been doing with her brush sinoe sbe left Ann Arbor. She is a member of the Detroit Water Color Society and had work at their reoent exhibition in Dettoit for wbicb she received very favorable notice.
