His Little Game Failed

A confldence operator attempted to work Mrs. Lewis F. Roberts, wife of the bookkeeper for the Arm Arbor Brewing Co., at her home 36 }4, Wall st. , Satnrday afternoon during Mr. Roberts' absence. He told Mrs. Roberts that ber husband had smt hiin after some change which be had forgotten. The lady was too sharp for the sbarper, however, and politely told him tbafc tbere was some tnistake and that if Mr. Roberts wanted any ohange he coald come and get it himself. Mrs. Roberts had reoeived $20 from a man in the morning which was donbtless ■witnessed by the sbarper who thought it a good obance to work Iris little game, but it failed.
