St. Paul, iMinn.. March 23.- Oeorge Kelly, eonvteted of murder in the first degree for killing two men at Center Citj', paicf the penalty tor his crime Tuesday. Kelly said his real name was not Kelly, but vould not teil vvhat his name was. as he did not care to have his parents know his fate. The crirnf for which Kelly was hanged was committed last June at AVyoming on the St. Paul and Duluth railroad, when two of its citizens, Kdward Paul and Jacob Hayes, youths just entering manhooĆ”. were shot by one of two men who were attempting to hold up Dr. Burnside Foster of St. Paul, who had arrived at Wyoming alter rnidnlght on his way to join his family at Osceola. The trap was sprung at 12:56 in the morning, and six minutes later life was extinct. In ten minutes the body was eut down and examination showed that death had been caused by strangulation. Kelly stated to his counsel during the afternoon that Alton, Hls., was his native city.
