Tha seoond bauqnet of the University Masonio Ciub tor this college year, held at Prettymau's Saturday nigbt, was attended by about 75 active and honorary mernbers and was au enthnsiastic sucoess from start to finish. After all had partaken heartily of the feast of good things provided, and cigars had been lighted, President O. P Cole made a brief speeoh of welcoroe to those present and of thanks tu the clnb for the honor conferred on him in electing him president. He then iutroduced B. T. Riley, law '97, as toastmaster of the evening. As is usual at these banqnets no one knew where the toastmaster 's lightning would strike and several poor innooents were roped in for speeohes who never expected to hear their names mentioned. His introdnctions were witfcy and the replies were eqnally so and were replete with good stories wuich kept the baDqneters in a chroniu state of langhter all the eveniug. Tbose wbo spoke were: C. P. Watkins, Prof. E. F. Johnson, George P. MoCallnm, F. L Iugraham, I. N. Kiuney, Dr. W. B. Hinsdale, Dr. J. G. Lynds, G. D. Edgar, Dr. R. S. Copeland, Dr. N. S. Hoff, Prof. C. G. Taylor, A. A. Pearson, A. H. McLean and W. B. Mower. The banquet closed at midnight and tbose who were present will not forgct it for a long time to come.
