Celebration At Galena

Galena, llls., April 27. - This city was in festive array Tuesday, celebrating the anniveis'y of the birth of its most illustrious citizen - General Ulyssea S. Gi'ant. Visitors from all portions of the state as vvell as from many other states were in tovvn, come to attend the exercises in honor of the hero of the civil war, vvho from his home in Galena went to the front and is well remembered by its older citizens. At ? o'clock in the afternoon theceremonies of the day opened in the Turner hall. the largest auditorium in the city, and until late at night the festivities continued, closing with the grand annual reunión.
