Lepper & Wiloox, who have done so muoh to briug the Hawkius house, Ypslanti, into such favorable repute with tbe traveliug public, have for a loug time been casting wistful eyes at the Cook bouse in this city, and" they have finally accumplished their purpose and aie now the laudlords nf that hostelry. At midnight of Monday tbe deal was accomplished between theru and Mr. E. T. MoClure, and the ohange of owuers took plaoe. The purchase involved tbe stock, fixtures aud furniture of the hotel together with Mr. McClure's interes!; in the lease wbich ruua until next fall. Messrs. Lepper & Wilcox will enter iuto a further lease of 10 years for the houso and will continue the management of botb the Cook house and the Hawkins house. Mr. Wilcox has removed to Anu Arbor and will give the Cook house bis uudivided attentiou. James E. Murnau, who bas for six years been the popular day clerk, will continue in tbat capaoity. The Argus is sorry to see Mr. McClure leave Aun Arbor, but is glad that he is succeeded by sncb a wide-awake and enterprising pair of hotelkeepers as Messrs. Lepper & Wilcox.
