A Birthday Social

A "Penny Social" will be beid in the new gymnasium tomorrow evening from 7:30 to 11 o'clock. The object o: this gathering is twofold. . (1) To bring together informally n the new building the faculties and students of the various departments of the University. (2) To obtain a sum of money which can be devoted to social pur poses in connection with this building To accomplish the latter without iaterfering with the former object each guest is desired to contribute oí this occasion as many pennies as he or she has lived yerrs. Guests will be received in the unfinished parlors o: the building (entrauce lower door N University ave.) The new gymnasium will be used for musie, which will be furnished by the School of Music, and by some ol the musical clubs of the University. It will also serve for promenading Át 8:30 the large doors connecting this building with the Waterman Gymnasium will be thrown open for dancing. Other entertainment will be provided in the parlors for those who do not dance. The Woman's Dean, assisted by a representative from the senior class of every department in the Univer sity, will act as general hostess.
