Had His Hand Cut Off

Samuel Preston, a young colored man, of Ypsilanti, tried to caten the 11 :57 train Snnday night but slipped. His left hand was caught under tne wheels and horriüly mutilated. Preston walked np Oross st. aud, going iDto a baru wtboot baving called ou a surgeon, slept there nntil morniDg before anybody knew that medical aasistanee was neded for him. Dr. Huil was suminoned Mouday morning and amputated all the flngers on the left haud with the exception of half of the iudex finger. Preston was extremely weak when found, having suftered the loss of a great qnantity of blood.
