Abandoned His Wife

Mrs. H. L. Cone, of this city, applied to Sheriff Jodson on Mouday for relief in a rather peouliar oase. Her husband, who has been a student in the medical departruent of the university, bas abandoned her in absolute want and kiduapped their 1 5-months old cbild. Investigation shows that Cone cleaned out the living apartinents of himself and wife last week, selling off all the books, furniture and olothing for which he could find a buyer and on Sunday taking the baby cab and baby went to Toledo, and froni theuce presumably to Florida where be lived years ago. The couple formerly resided in Battle Creek. Mrs. Cone says that her husband was badly in debt. Sheriff Judson can do uothing since the man is ontside of the state and the woman is unable to follow her hnsband and cbild, not having safficient means.
