Houg'hton, Mich., May 18. - Mrs. A. T. Petit, wife of Editor Petit of the Harieock Progress, committed suicide Monday by hanging herself to a beam in the cellar. Her family relations were harmonious and pleasant. Prolonged watching at the bedside of a friend sick with typhoid fever undermined her health and she has lately been ti-eated for mental diseases. Fear of permanent insanity, it is thought, caused her to take her life
