Shawano, Wis., May 18. - Word was received here of a terrible tragedy at Richards' Mills, a few miles west of here. While Martin Wicks was burning brush on his farm he took with him nis wife and left their three children, aged 7, 5 and 4 years, locked in the house to keep them safe from misohief. Returning later in the afternoon they feund their home a mass of ruins and their children burned te death. The bodies were almost destroyed and were only identified by the sizes. It is supposed the house caught fire from the burning brush in that vicinity. There have been frequent forest fires lately which have spread very rapidly. The Wicks farm is almost completely isolated and the entire place was completely destroyed before help could be given. The parents are crazed with grief and are being cared for by neighbors.
