The Late Wm. H. Jewett
On Satnrday afternoon Dr. J. B. Kennedy, Detroit, assisted by Drs. Owen and Hall, of Ypsilanti, made a postruortern examination of the body of the late William H. Jewett, in connection with the pending contest by Don C. Jewett of Mrs. Florence McDonongh Jewett's claim as William H. Jewett's widow, to the insnrance and other property left by him. They were accompanied by Frank T. JLodge, of Detroit, who is Don C. Jewett's attorney. A careful and exhaustive exarnination , was made by the three physioians, after which the body was reinterred. A physician was in attendance during all the time of the post mortem, engaged by the local Masouic body to see I that the proceedings were all regular. W. S. Carpenter, master of the lodge of which the deceased was a member, was also present. Photograpbs of the brain were takeu to be used in the trial of the snit that has been institnted by Don C.: Jewett, son of the deceased. The case promises to be a very stubbornly coutested one as both sides are determiued to secure their rights. The end will doubtless be that the larger portion of the estáte will find its way into the lawyers' pocket. That is about the way suoh cases usually end.
