Amendment To Tariff Bill

Washington, June 1. - Senator Davis has introduced a proposed amendmsnt to the tariff bilí providing that notlilng in the act shall be held to repeal or Impair the provisions of the reciprocity treaty wlth Hawaii. Senator Davis says that the treaty contains a solemn declaration that it should not be abrogated except upon one year's notice. The bilí as it carne from the house contained a provisión the same -ís the amendment of Senator Davis, but it was stricken out by the finance committee.
