Renumbering the Houses. The house renumbering ordinance having been signed by Mayor Hiscock, the bids for furnisning the figures necessary for the renumbering of the houses and business places were opened at the city clerk's office on Tuesday. Tbere were ouly three bids made. The Ann Arbor Mauufacturing Co. offered to furnish alnminnrn figurs 2% iuches high, flat surface, for $3.40 per 100; the Eberbach Hardware Co., for the Wagner Mfg. Co., of Sidney, O., the same metal, but 3 inch figures, ovni surface, for $5 per 100; and JRobert Hunter, of Anu Arbor, the same metal, flat sarface, 2% inches high, for $2.47 per 100. The same firms in the same urder, will furnish the same figures in brass, nickel placed, for $3.40, $3.75 and $4.47 per hnndred. The numbers of figures required is 10,000, thus ruaking the total of Mr. Hunter's bid $247. The council will take action on the matter at its meeting Monday eveoing. It is estimated that the labor of putting on the numbers will cost from $150 to f250, some putting it at the lower figure, while others place it as high as $250. At any rate this much needed improvement will not cosfc over f 500 and it is a good investment.
