Prof. Mechera will Dot go tn Detroit, but will still reruaiu in Anu Arbor. Harry W. Ulark has beeu appointed superintendent of the University hospital. Dr. N. S. Hoff read a paper at the conveution of the Michigan Dental Assooiation in Battle Creek yesterday. The budget for tbe coming college year as ariopted at the recent meeting of the board of regents amonnts to $418,545. Profs. E. F. Johnson and H. L. Wilgns have been made full professors in the law department witb a salary of 1.2,000 a year each. The Webster Debating Society of the law department, banqneted at Prettyman's last Fnday night as a closing np of a good year's work. The new electric lighting plant for the nniversity will be commenced at once and it is expected to have it ready for use when sohool opeiis nest üctober. Dr. Angelí will not leave for Turkey tomorrow as was at first announced.bnt he will stay to finish np the work in nis international law course and may remain throngh commencement, at which time he will deliver the baccalanieate sermon. James H. Brewster, of Detroit, has beeu appointed to a law professorsbip and Jndge A. A. McAlvay, of Manietee, to a half-time professorship. Prof. Brewster will remove here in the fall and will be a desirable addition to ou residen ts. Tbe University Masonio Club ha leased the large Allmendinger nous at 25 and 27 S. Fifth ave., for a club house for next year. During the summer tbe house will be entirely refurnished with new fnrnitnre and put in Srst class condition for its new occupants. It will easily accommodate 25 persons. A dispatch from Ithaoa, N. Y. dated June 5, says: "Instructor W. B. Pilisbory, of Cornell University, will leave :he university to aocept a position in ;he department of psychology in the University of Michigan, and W. W. Plorer, also of Cornell, will go to the Michigan University as professor of ;he Germanic langnages. '! A large audienoe was present at the ülee, Banjo and Mandolin Clubs' coniert in University hall, Saturday evenng. The concert was one of the best )ver given by the musical clubs. The )rogram was an excellent one and was veil rendered from beginning to end. Dhe audienoe was enthusiastio for enores and of coursa every number on the irogram had to be repeatsd. The song hat made the greatest hit was "O'fiaferty's Light Hussars." It was espeoally arranged for the club by Prof. R. i. Kempf, who bas been the Glee ülub's instructor during the season.
