The Arm Arbor Courier reads the mob act to the council and charges that it has gone into all sorts of reckless expenditures without value received, and has besides, in the last twb or tbree years overdrawn the street fund 10,000. Well, Sam Patch! Tam the republicans out and let the demoorats loose. The Ann Arbor Detnorcat refers to "Billy" Judson as "Washtenaw's flaxen haired sheriff. " Sinoe what time has "flaxen haired" Billy's hirsute covering been toned down frorn the romantic brilliancy of the clear summer evening occident? It looks like shartieless effort on the part of the Democrat to repaint the rainbow. While the Demoorat is uot prepared to"O. K. " all that Rep. Sawyer has said and done during the session of the legislature,. it can assure its readers that the representativo from the flrst district of a Washtenaw county was not the smallest toad in the pnddle by any ïaeans. - Ann Arbor Demoorat. Certainly not. It is not "toadying" to remark that aiiyone who will tafee the pains to size up the well larded rotundity of the Ann Arbor representative, will coincide with the Democrat. The Kalamazoo Gazette explains ■what a "tinker's dam" is. It says: It is made of clay and used by a plnmber or tinker, in holding the solder, till it gets cold. After that it is brushed away, so it is worth very little. Almost as worthless then, as the work of tüe late legislature, which is "not worth a tinker's dam."
