The Argos has received from the seo retary of state at Lansing the tweutyeighth registiation report of births, ruarriages and deaths in Michigan for the year 1894. Soine of the statistics contained therein relatiug to this county will doubtless prove of interest to our readers. l ín 1894 Washtenaw countybad a popnlation of 43,509, of which 35,785 were native boru aud 7,774 foreign bom. The nationality of the foreigu boru was: Cauadians, 1,508; Euglisb aud Welsh, 1,010; Scotch, 111; Irish, 765; Germán, 4, 118; Austrian, 7; Hollander, 1; Belgian, 3; Swiss, Ú4 ; Norwegian, 4; Swedes, 11; Rnssians, 30; Dane, 11; Bohemiau, 39; Poles, 4; Frenoh, 33; Italiau, 16; all others, 43. The total nnmber of marriages was 309. Of which in 201 cases ooth parties were native bom ; in 32 cases both parties were foreign bom; in 37 cases the man was foreign bom ; in 22 cases the woman was foreign born; in 12 cases the male was native born while the nativity of the' females was uriknown ; 4 foreign boru males also married females whose nativity was unknown.while only 1 native born woman married a man whose place of nativity was in donbt. Of the foreign born mariages, 17 males and 17 females were Canadians, 11 males and 8 females wem English, 4 males aud (i females were Irish and 41 males and 23 females were Germán. The total number of births was 716; of which 399 were males, 313 females, and 4 unknown. Of tthese 216 males and 169 females were of foreign boru parents. The total nnmber of deaths was 394, of which 206 were males, 185 females, and ö unkuown; the greatest number of deaths during auy oue months was in March when 55 died. Of these 394 births 23 were still born, 48 died under 1 year old, lö from 1 to 2 years, 6 from 2 to 3 years, 2 from 3 to 4 years, 1 from 4 to 5 years, 5 from 5 to 10 years, 8 from 10 to 15, 14 from 15 to 20, 19 from 20 to 25, 19 from 25 to 30, 17 from 80 tu 35, 19 from 35 to 40, 11 from 40 to 45, 15 from 45 to 50, 18 from 50 to 55, 16 from 55 to 60, 25 from 60 to 65, 19 from 65 to 70, 36 from 70 to 75, 22 from 75 to 80, 31 were 80 years old and over, the age of 1 was nnkuown. The total number of negroes iu this nnmber of deaths was 13. The nationality of the foreign born people who died was 4 males and 6 females Oauadiau, 6 males and 'i females Buglish, 1 Scotch, 6 males and 3 females Irish, 23 males and 6 females Germán, 1 female Polish. The total number of divorces granted in 1894 was 31, and the total number of divorce suits commenced was 39. The escess of births over deaths for the year 1894 was 322. The number of marriages was 64 less than for the year previous, the number of births was 216 mo.re and the number of deaths 39 more.
