COUNCIL. CHAMBEE. ) Ann Arbor, June 28th, 1897. Adjourned session. Calied to order by Glen V. Mills, City Clerk. líoll calied. Quorum present. Absent: Aid. Hamilton, Vandawarker, Soule, Coon, Danforth, Pies. Luick. Aid. Moore moved that Aid. Brown be elected President pro tem. Adopted. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS. A petition signed by Anna B. Bach asking for payment for gravel alleged to have been taken by employees of the city was read and referred to the Street Committee and City Attorney. A petition signed by Anton Ottó asking for damages for alleged injuries received on a defective sidewalk was read and referred to the City Attorney. Ann Albor, Mich., June 15, 1897. To the President and Common Council of the City of Aun Arbor: Gentlemen,- You are cordially invited to particípate with your fellovv citizens on July 3, 1897, in celebrating the Fourth of July. To the Common Council: Your Committee on water woulc recommend that two üre hydrants be ordered on E. Huron st., east of State one hydrant being located at the cor ner o: Thirteenth st. Respectfully submitted, Arthur Brown, Geo. L. Moore, Committee on Water Adopted as follows: Yeas - Aid. Moore, Grossman, Koch. Dell, Sweet, Brown, Rhodes, Spathelf, Cady- 9. Nays - None. BONDS. To the Common Council: Your Committee on Bonds respectfully report that they have had the saloon bond of Abram Polhemus, principal, with Add Collum and George Clarken as sureties, under consideration and would recommend the approval of the same. To the Common Couneil of the City of Ann Arbor, Mich.: Gentlemen: - In compliance with an Ordin.-uice entitled "An Ordinanee Relative to Sewers Providing for the Construction of a System of Lateral and Connecting Sewers in the City of Ann Arbor," would most respeetfully report that there is due and unpaid June 28th, on Lateral Sewer No. 1, thtrd quarter $ 440 31 Lateral Sewer No.2, thirdquarter 903 37 Lateral Sewer No. 3, second . 5,328 95 Lateral Sewer No. 4, seeond quarter.. 650 67 Lateral Sewer No. 5, first quarter 1,558 87 Making a total oí.... 18,882 17 All of which is respeetfully submitted, E. Koch: Resolved, That the Common Couneil hereby certifies to the City Assessor that there is due and unpaid lateral sewer taxes to the amount of: District No. 1 $ 440 31 District No. 2 903 37 District No.3 5,328 95 District No. 4.-,... (550 67 District No. 5 1,558 87 Ï8.882 17 according to the detailed report of the sewer taxes which is hereby made a part of this certifleation and the City Assessor is hereby directed to spread the same upon his rolls along with the other city taxes.
