Last Saturday night sonie fellow in Ypsilanti got fnll of budge aud while in a partially intoxioated condition after the saloons weie closed went to Fr. Kennedy 's house aud woke him np with the announcement that he was goiug to corurnit suicide. Fr. Kennedy carne down stairs and flndiug that the fellow had a revolver and knife in bis possession with whicb to carry oat his tbröats prooeeded to argne the point with him and tried to convince him of the folly of snch a proceeding. It was of no use, however, and the fellow remaiued strong in his puipose. Tbe athlete priest then resorted to tbe arguinenturn baculiuum and it was not long before be had divested the wouldLe suicide of his weapons. All be could say waa : "Father Kennedy, if I ever hit you, you will never get up.M bnt he never got in the blow. As soon as he had disarmed his man Fr. Kennedy went to the talephone and oalled up the pólice to go and take the fellow home, but he never gave them a chance to get him, for as soon as he gathered the drift of the clergyman's rjemarks he lit out aud made a start for horaewhich it is supposed hereacbed in safety as no sensational reporta of bis deathhave beeu received from theTwin City.
