Geo. Edwards is visiting friends in JacksoĆ¼. L. Taft, of Teournseb, is visiting Milan friends. Prof. Carrick has gone to Grand Rapids on his bicycle. A. Kinear and fatuily, of AdriĆ”n, are visiting Milan friedns. Mr. and Mrs. T. Lacey, of Toledo, are visiting Milan friends. Geo. Miuto returned from his Chicago trip the last of the week. A. Hayden, of Toledo, was the gnest of Mrs. Pyle Friday and Satuiday. Farmers are busy in the hay flelds in this vicinity and report a big hay erop. Fred Ganntlett and family left Tuesday afternoon for a week's visit in Detroit. Mrs. J. Dexter and danghters have moved into their new house on Howard st. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Blackmer have retorned from their visit to Fowlerville. J. D. Olcott, of Pinconning, is spending a few weeks with his Milan frisnds. Copious showers iu Milan Monday and Tnesday greatly refreshed the wilted vegetation. The D. of R. iudulged in an ioe cream social at the I. O. O. F. dining hall Wednesday eveniug. Star Voght has returned to his home in Detroit after a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Blakeslee. Mrs. S. Roys and children, of Farwell, are the guests of Editor and Mrs. A. B. Smith for a few days. E. A. Reynolds gave Milau a cali Mouday and Tuesday en route from Detroit to the northern part of the state. Mr. and Mrs. Cbas. Patterson have returned from their Warsaw, Ind., sojourn much refreshed by their vaoation. George Adarus, of New York city, and Prof. Charles Adams, of Detroit, were the guests of tbeir cousins M. A. Palmer and 'Mrs. Clark, Sunday and Monday. Dr. S. Chapin has received his oommissiou from Washington, D. C, and acted on the board as pension exaroiner at Ann Arbor last Wednesday for the flrst time. We wish him suocess in his new work. Mrs. Roscoe Allen gave the Chautauqua Cirole a fine banqaet Saturday afternoon at her home near Milan. The event was one long to be remembered. Rev J. P. Hutchiuson, of Ann Arbor, was present and acted as toastmaster in his usual happy and genial manner. His remarks wer very fine. The responses were good and the afternoon was a brilliant success.
