Quite A Fish Story
The Detroit Tribune tells of a Germán living near Galesburg who drew a log from the river, from which projected the tail of a five-pound pickerel. The fish was wedged in and was witbdrawn with difficulty when five inore pickerel fiooped out, the last one having a partly swallowed "bait" in its tnouth. The. presumption is thafc the six piokerel were in a simultaneóos pursuit of the same bait which sought refuge in the log and was followed by the eutire nnmber of its enemies, the last of which, being mnch the larger, became so firmly wedged in the hollow as to make its own escape itnpossible, thus involving the capture of all. The total weight of the fish was 28 pounds.
