I. C. Franks will institute a lodge of Good Templáis at Ypsilanti this eveniug. 0 Samuel W. Campbell, of Ypsilanti, has suffered a stroke of paralysis and his life is despaired of. Young Hewitt, of Ypsilanti, who was accidentally shot last week by his brother, is up and around and feels no inconvenience frorn the bnllet, which is still in his head. Some one broke into the ticket office at Pinckney, Wednesday, while Agent W. P. Black was out to dinner and smashed the ticket case. Nothing oL valué was taken. A tramp is suspected. Ypsilanti has a ghostly sensation. For the past six weeks a "wornan in black!' has been frigbtening people by suddeDly appearing before them at night. Her identity has not been unveiled although several attempts have been made to find out who she is. She disappears as suddenly as she appears, and efforts in this directon have been futile. Mis. Eliza Felt, of Grass Lake, died Wednesday morning, at the age of 84. She was the widow of Hon. Dorman Felt, and had been a highly respected member of society in Grass Lake for more than 40 years. She was the motber of a large family of children, bnt one of whom survives her, Sumner D. Felt, of Kansas City, Mo. A queer freak of lightning which happened the other day on the farm of Jas. Buchanan near Dexter, is related by Judge Newkirk. A Mr. Esslinger and the hired man were at work loading a wagon with hay, when a small black cloud appeared over their heads. With scaroely any warning a thunder bolt shot out frotn the cloud and struck the tines oí the pitchfork, whioh the hired man was holding upward. The lightning was conducted down tbe handle of the fork which was ripped iuto splinters. The nian's hands were severely burned and he and Mr. Esslinger were knocked senseless. One of the horses was knocked down, but came to before the men did and the team ran away to tbe barn, where they were fonnd later. The results were not serious in case of either of the men.
