Pbil. Hal, son of E. B. Hal, was out driving with Miss LncilleGoddard, of Leadville, Colo., niece of JVIrs. W. G. Doty, on Sunday afternoon, and wheu naar the bridge on N. Main st. , be got out of the carriage to put up the side curtains so as to keep the rain frotn getting into the carriage. While thns engaged the horse became frightened at a bicyole scorcher, who, it is clainied oollided with ihe'bnggy, and ran away throwinj the young lady out against a fenoe, broisiug and frightening hor so tbat she fainted. When the horse got throngh running the carriage was a wreek. A second carriage vhich Mr. Hall obtained to take the young lady home in met with a like fate, the horse again running away as Mr. Hall was leading it to a hitching post to tie it. This time the carriage was empty.
