London, July 27.- In the house of commons Tuesday Lord George Hamilton, secretary of state for India, in reply to a question why the East Indian railway, owned by the government, had purchased 7,708 tons of rails from the Maryland Steel company of Baltimore. said the lowest British bid was L675 higher than the American tender.
