Casualties At Fort Chakdara
Bombay, Aug. 2. - It is announced in a dispatch from Simia, the summer residence of the British Indian government, that the combined casualties of the garrison of Fort Chakdara, in the Chitral district,' which was relieved Monday, and of the relieving forcé unte General Blood, only amounted to Lieutenant Rattray wounded, sevennative British soldiers killed and thirtyflve wounded. The loss of the insurgent tribesmen who were besieging the place is not stated. Six thousand tribesmen with scaling ladders were preparing to attack the fort when they wereattacked by the first British column, under Colonel Meikeljohn, and completely routed.
