Over the chimney the night wind sang And ohanted a mclody no one knew. And the woman stopped asherbabe she toased And thought of the one she had on% since lost And said, as her teardrops back slie forceé, "I hate the wind in the chimney. " Over the chimney the night wind sang And chanted & melody no one knew. And the children said as they closer drew, " ;ipjg somo witch that is cleaving the black nifcïhr throughl 'Tis some wifch fhat is cleaving the black. And we itar the wind in the chimney." And the man as he sat on his hearth belcnr Said to himself, "It will surely snow, And fuel is dear and wages low, And I'H stop the leak in the chimney." Over the chimney the night wind sang And chanted a melody no one knew. But the poet listened and sxniled, for he Waa man and woman and child, all three. And he said, "It is God's own harmony, This wind that singa in the chimney."
