The girl who has recently become interested in theosophy was enjoying herself imniensely, endeavoring in the most disinteiested way, of course, to convert a chance acquaiutance to her new views, au4 the loug and' hard sonnding wcrda rolled off her nimble tongne in the raanner peculiar to an enthusiastio student. "The lnminiferons ether," she was saying interestedly as the pale young woman across the car closed the book which ehe had been thoughtfally studying and feil to listening to the scrapa of conversation which surrouuded her, "is really uotbing more or less than a big psychical mirror. Everything we have ever done frotn the beginuing of the Manvantara, everything we shall do Tintil we once more reach the repose of the Devachajiic plane, is reflected in the Akasaic radiance, and" - At this point the pale yonng woman across the car leaned over and touched the epeaker's arm. Are you interested in theosophy?" she hastened to add, auxious to cover her lack of deflnite knowledge as to the meaning of the word under discussion, "for if you are" - "I'ru not, thauk you, " interrupted the thoughtful young woman more sweetly and apologetically, "but I couldn't help hearing those vfords, and they made me anxious. I'm just beginuing to study anatomy, you know, and I thought you were talkiug about some new muscles, and as I'm going to have a private examination tomorrow I thought I'd just ask you and make sure. " But the new convert to theosophy was not listening, and the acquaintance who had been delivered froru a dissertation upon the Akasa-io ether langhed immoderately before proceeding to chanue the subject of conversation. -
