New Burial Law
The new )aw passed by the late legislature provides for an accurate record of deaths, with their cause, etc. Tlie law provides tliat the body of no person can be buried until the clerk of the city shall have issued a burial or retnoval permit. A death certifícate shall also be obtained from the clerk and filled out by the attending physician, stating the cause of death and all particulars as to name, age. occupation, birthplace and family history of deceased. The act takes effect August 29, after which time no nndertaker shall receive a body for burial without the burial permit and death certifícate. This means additional work for the city clerk as the miinber of deatlis will indícate, but no compensation for the work is provided.
