.7. W. Huil and Jacob Struin succeed tberuselves as sohool directors at Saline. The Disboro sohool began Mouday witb Miss Edith Jndson as teacher. The Delhi Miljs school began the same day with Miss Lily Broas, of Dexter, as teacher. The Scharf Tag, Label and Box Co. of Ypsilanti, has purchased the print ing outfit of Fred W. Coe, of that city Mr. Coe wil! assurue the rnanageinen1 of the printing department of the purchasflrs. The ycnug people's alliance of the Detroit district of the evangelical association was in sessiou at Whittaker for three days this week. Rev. G. A. Hettler of Ida presided. A large nnruber of addresses weredelivered by Michigan divines. Dexter had a hot school electiou Monday night at which Jas. B. Page and R. P. Copeland were elected Echool trustees. There were five oandidates on the first ballot and on the second or decisive one Page received 95 votes to 64 for Daniel E. Hoy. A tas of 4,000 was voted and the present systeru of textbooks was unauimously retained.
