Rernernber nest week comes the event of the year, our own great county fair. Washtenaw county bas always been noted for the success of the yearly exhibitions of the products of its soil. Our fanners havH gond cause to be proud of onr fertile county, and in no better way eau they proclaiin the resources of their locality, than in this exhibition of its wonders. This year's fair will greatly surpass all that have been held in the past. A larger number of entries is now being made thau ever before, but there is stlll plenty of room for the best of your stock and produce. Read the premium lists, and yon will see that it is to your interest to bring your prize cattle and mammoth pnmpkins. The special premiums offered by our Anu Arbor merchants are of the flnest goods of all sorts that are to be found. Try for thern, you know there is no entranee fee reqnired for the special premiums. Tho raoes have been the object of special attention and you niay be very sure of seeing sorne very quick time made in thern. The special attractions are inarvellous in tbeir variety aud the qnality of the artists. Yon will have the privilege of witnessing the unparalleled achievements of Prince Scbumann the invincible king of the steel wire. Yon will also ee Signor Hernandes, the champion buckiug bronoho rider, in his great feats of rough riding. The Kennedy Brothers will give a very interesting and instrnctive exhibition of the riding characteristic of the western plains. There will be a marvellous showing of exquisite skill in the tbrowing of deadly glittering steel knives as close as Chey can come to a live woman without cutting her. Nothing has ever been seen here whioh could equal in novelty the great "Ocean Wave." You must ride on this, for it will give you some deligbtful sensations which you have never before experienced. A day at the fair will be for everyone a gala day of recreation, a fete of fun and a day to be long remembered for the wonderful sights seen there. The SalvationArmy will hold services every noon in the big tent. The Ann Arbor Mnsic Co. will give daily concerts by some of the best musical artists of the state. Three bands of mnsic will furnish their inspuiting martial strains. You will have the best time of the year to see all your friends and in every way prufit greatly by a day at ourjbig fair. Wednesday and Thursday the visitors will be treated to a game of football nnder the management of the Ann Arbor high school team. The program ontside of the special attractions will be as follows: Tnesday, Sept. 28 - Entries and assignments. Wednesday, School Day - To be partioipated in by all of the schools of Washtenaw connty. Mnsic by Becker's band. Exercises will be couducted by Connty School Cornmissioner Lister. Addresses will be wade by ex-School Commissiuners Cavanangh and Wedemeyer. Races - 1. 2 :40 trotting class, purse 875. 2. Three minute trotting class, purse $50. Free concert by the Ann Arbor Mnsic company. Diouei will be served on the gronuds from 11 a. m. until 4 p. m. by the ladies of St. Thomas church. At 1 :30 will oocur a grand cavaluade of all live stock ou the grouuds. Thursday, Farmers' Day - Governor Piagree aud other speakers wil) address the people. The wedding of O. E. Killeubeck, of Augusta, and Nellie M. Fergusou, of Ypsilanti, will take place on the gronnds at 2 p. m., and the bridal couple will be the recipients of a complete honsekeeping outfit, the gift of Ann Arbor merchants. Races - 3. 2:30 trotting, pnrse f 100. 4. 2:25 pacing, purse $100. Friday, Ann Arbor Day - Al! of our merchauts will close their stores and with their employees will take in the fair. Races - 5. Free for all trot and pace, purse $100. 6. 2:35 pacing, pursfi $75. 7. Dean & Co. 's, special running raoe for sugar. Monday morning the Fair office will be moved to the building ou the grounds and the work of arraugements will begin in earnest. The track is being worked and promises to be in excellent condition. Au addition is beiug built to the grand stand to accommodate the expected crowd. The plumbing for the uew additiou to the Cook house will cost 2,000. It comprises 10 bath rooms and 15 closets. Schneider Bros. have the job.
