This Man's Plans Failed
Milwaukee, Sept. 28.- Near Waterford, a village twenty miles southwest of here, TJic Kepper, a well-to-do farmer, sought to extermínate his family by making s. funeral pyre of his home, but the other members of the household avvakenea barely in time, and he alone perished. Kepper, who was 53 years old, spent Monday evening in the village and wem liome intoxicated. He retired, but at midnight got upand set fire to the barn, which was close to the house. The family was awakened ty the smoke and arose just in time to see Kepper walk upstairs and disappear ín the flames. Kepper has had troubli. ■with his wlfe, and only Monday was served with a summons in a divorce euit. The authorities are satisfied that he intended that the whole family should perish.
