At 10:30 o'olock yesterday morning the board of supervisors, the oounty officers and members of the connty press assembled iu front of the court house where hacks were in waiting to take theiE on their annual visit to the county bonse. It was a beautifnl day and the brief drive to the farm was thoronghly enjoyable. Arrived there they were reoeived by Mr. and Mrs. Shankland aud C. H. Kernpf, E. P. lason and T. L. Towner, superintendeuts of the poor, and at once started out on a tour of inspection. The house was found to be iu a beautifully clean condition.tbe floors as white as willing hands and soap and water could make them and the beds, bedding and clothing showing the best of caie on the part of the rnatron. Ouiside the house the farm showed good management and eorne of the mammoth. potatoes grown were exhibited to the visitors in the offioe and everyoue was of the opinión that they should have been exhibited at the county fair if only to show what the county farm will grow. The buildings and stock were found to be in good conditioD. A snbstantial diüuer followed to which all did ampie justice, bnt even at the dinner table the deadly "drain" committee of the board got in its work and Supervisor Dettiing, of Freedom, was assessed a box of cigars for asking foi a second glass of water at dinner. The reason given being that it was not jusE the thing for a Freedom man to drink water. About 1 :30 the visitors started on the return journey wel! pleased with their trip "over the hill to the poor lonse. "
