The oase of Minnie M.Vanderwerker ps. Mary A. Looker, replevin, went j to the jnry in the circuit court, Friday ( sfternuon, and a verdict of 250 was rendered for the defeudentant. Motion bas been made for a new trial. ( phurnia B. Phelps et al. vs. Charles , 3. Abbott, appeal, was the next case called. A verdict for the plaintiff of ■ 289.04 was reudtred the sanie evening. Monday moruing Eruest Ely charged with bniglarizing Geo. Spathelf's rueat inarket on the North side,changed hïs plea to guilty and was at once sentenced to Ionia for two years. Artbur Corkius who was implicated in sealing wheat froni Mrs. Dunlavey, of Webster township, chauged his plea to gnilty and got 90 days in the county jail. Hrtrry Miller and James McMil[an, who stole a stndeut's tronk at the M. C. depot recently, pleaded guilty and were sentenced to oue year's eonfiuement each to Jackson. The case of Frank Dunuan vs. William P. Grooves occnpied the atteution of the conrt up till Tnesday noon when it was given to the jnry. JVIr. Duucan claimed damages in the suni of 120,000 for Mr. Groves haviug alieuated the aiïections of Doncan's wife from him, he being the lady's father. Tbe jury was ont nntil 10 o'clook Wednesday morning when a verdict of no oanse of aotion was rendered. In Lydia R. Seitz vs. Clarence Eaton, Zenas Sweet and Clinton Allmendinger the canse of action was based on the actiou of Depnty Suena Sweet takiug a cow some time ago to satisfy a claim of Clarence Eaton. Airs. Seitz claimed that the cow was hers on a chattel mortgage from her hnsband aud that in takiug the cow for her hnsbaud's debt she snffered a finanoial loss. The jury brought iu a verdict for $20 damages. There were no cases ready yesterday and the oonrt took a reoess uutil this morning.
